How difficult you make to cancel. I want to cancel my subscription.

You make it extremely difficult to cancel. This is unethical snd very telling about your organization. Please cancel my subscription which was on trial

Billing practices

Have been using McAfee for any years but have in recent years issues with pricing/billing. Examples: Exercised option for reduced pricing with McAfee rep over the phone but was billed full maximum charge. Specifically renewed each year actively performing renewal steps. This year (2021) was notified that cc was needed for auto-renewal - several months before renewal date. Initiating

Email received from "McAfee"

I recently received the following message from someone claiming to be from McAfee. Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2021 8:43 AM To: sgarrison@***.net Subject: Thank you for your order! You sent a Payment Dear Customer, You sent a mobile payment for $169.99 USD to McAfee LLC. A message has been sent to the recipient asking to accept or refuse the payment. Please note that it may take a little while or this payment to appear in the recent activity list on your account overview. Your monthly account statements Amount: $169.99 USD Sent on: 20 Oct 2021 Your Sincerely, McAfee LLC 1-83*-961-**** I do not recall ordering anything from McAfee recently and nothing in the amount of $169.99. Did your company send this to me or is this Spam? If it is your company, what is the charge for?

Tried to cancel subscription with no results

I was notified my email that they were going to renew my subscription. I responded I did not want to renew it. Yesterday I was notified that I had to call them to cancel. Today after switching from three to four people, I got no result. They could not help me.Stay away from Mcafeehey T

No help at all with customer service

I called to cancel my subscription to Mcafee and I kept being sent to three different people for help. After about half an hour they told me they couldn't help me.

User's recommendation: stay away from Mcafee, because if you have problems you are on your own.

Disappointing and Grasping

My McAfee Firewall started to turn off and sometimes couldn't be turned back on. First approach via cat assistance seemed to deal with issue via remote access. However, issue returned. Twice filled out details for chat assistance to report this. Twice got disconnected due to network failure - not that my Internet access had failed. Wasted about 20 minuted with this, then rang. Told I needed to speak to special virus team. Transferred to be told by someone with hard to understand accent that the problem wasn't a virus, but due to a program interfering with McAfee. I would have to pay for the service. Asked how he knew it wasn't a virus and received no satisfactory answer. Declined to pay and will remember McAFee's response come renewal tie for my security package.

You did well in using Malwarebytes. Windows Defender is really a so-so program and I have disabled it on all my machines.

I use Malwarebytes and the free Avast edition plus a couple of other free programs which I run every few days---superantispyware and ccleaner. I always uninstall McAfee whenever it comes bundled with a new computer---make sure you download and run the "clean uninstall" for McAfee or any other antivirus program in order to clean out all left over files that remain when you uninstall from the control panel's remove programs, etc. The more programs you have starting up and running in the background on a machine the more likely you will have conflicts and problems. You might want to also do a web search and find out how to turn off all the tracking and other privacy invading nonsense that comes with Windows 10.

I have stuck with Win 7 and intend to do so for as long as I can in order to avoid what I hear is a terrible Windows 10 operating system. Good luck.

Mcafee Internet Security Review from Tucker, Georgia

Today is March 13, 2016 and McAfee has taken monitoring to a whole new level. A scaming level. These criminals were monitoring my online payments and collecting my data. They used a card in which I had less than two weeks and charged it. Right?! Those little online purchases to Walmart and Amazon, they are spying. They had no permission and even cause me to over draft. Even if you use a prepaid card, to pay them so they won't just track your card and charge you a year later you can still become a victim of these thieves in disguised. Not to mention that same week they let a piece of crypto malware penetrate their defenses and reak havoc on my personal files. I paid Dell technicians money to try to retrieve files in which they could not do. This is how you can loose a couple of hundred plus due to McAfee in less that two weeks. They should concentrate more on increasing their defenses and not their black-market type card stealing abilities. SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK!

You apparently (foolishly) bought the McAfee anti-virus software--perhaps as a trial but also agreed to auto billing after a trial period. They do not keep track of your online payments or keep any data pertaining to something like that.

Stop being paranoid. You signed up for something and that's the way it is. By the way, there is no need to pay for anti virus software.

Avast, AVG and others offer you their free version for FREE! You might want to read what you actually signed up for and go from there.

No dufus, McFee foolishly monitored a Brand New CARD which can only have been obtained through spyware (MEANING I NEVER GAVE IT TO THEM TO BEGIN WITH!!!) They are security software you ***, it's not that hard. When I purchase from other websites like Wal-Mart, Amazon, Georgia Power they can see those transactions; Shall I continue?

There are several accusations of them doing this not just mine. SO STOP TROLLING, cause you are irrelevant.

McAfee rebate scam

I submitted a rebate in which I should have received a $55 debit card. I included everything with the rebate form including the form itself, a copy of the receipt and the UPC code which I had cut off of the retail box. They received my submission but stated that I had not included the UPC code. This is such a scam. It's my understanding that McAfee and/or the rebate company makes money by denying the rebates for various reasons. Unfortunately, they frequently say that the UPC is missing because they know that if they stated the receipt or rebate form is incomplete, the customer can simply send another copy in again. Not so with the UPC code since only the original is accepted. I like the McAfee product but will not be purchasing it again due to the rebate scams they run.

Renewed virus protection and double charged me. Is this necessary? Now I have to speak to every person that doesn't have an answer, listen to corny music inbetween and repeat my woe over, and over again. Ready, set and get nowhere.

McAfee Lack of Customer Support

Purchased a renewal subscription online. There was an error during purchase as the subscription did not link to my account, but charged my card. There's no link to customer service phone # or support on the site I was directed to. Had to search the web and was able to get customer support, but it was the website service, not the consumer services. Finally got the right number from that representative. Once I was directed to the right customer support number, I was able to get the problem resolved. McAfee needs to include their customer support number on their online ordering web service when ordering through link in program.
