This software came pre-installed on my PC. Since I had already paid for much less expensive antivirus software that worked very well, I uninstalled it ...

This is at least the third time I've encountered annoying pop-up ads claiming my computer has viruses because I visited an "adult content" website (I hadn't). Today's pop-up ad, which kept reappearing no matter how many times I clicked "ignore," insisted that the only way to remove these so-called viruses was to pay a small fortune for McAfee antivirus software.
I dropped everything and ran a full scan using my own software. 90 minutes later, no viruses found and no problems.
All I had to do to get rid of these "viruses" was delete my browser history.
I used to think McAfee was a trustworthy product. Well, not anymore!
If anyone with half a brain were running the FBI, I'd report this company.
As it is, I hope this review will warn others that McAfee is running ads that try to scam you. Don't be fooled!

I had the Windows 10 that Microsoft was no longer supporting. I had McAfee installed on that computer and needed it transferred to my new Windows 11 computer.
Countless phone calls with idiot customer support, emails to the company, and still not installed or transferred to my Windows 11. Still expecting me to make the monthly payments when I no longer have the product.
Consumers today employ the worst customer service personnel, and they cannot seem to get it through their idiot brains what I want and need. If further payments are charged to my bank account, I will report it to my bank as unauthorized charges.

They will only refund my $137.79 if I give them my bank account. I do not do online banking.
I asked them to send a check to me directly, and they said they can't do that.
They won't send it back to my credit card company because it might be infected also. Why can't they send me a personal check for that amount?
Ripped me off
Back in May I received a notification from my bank of an automatic payment to mcafee at 2 a.m.on a Saturday . At 830 a.m I began calling their worthless customer service line to be hung up on 3 times.
On the fourth call I basically was told I had automatically authorized payment and the call was disconnected. On Monday I filed a dispute with the bank. On Wednesday McAfee cancelled my "Subscription". No refund, no explanation, nothing!
They fought and successfully overturned the dispute approximately 30 days later.
That means they automatically charged me for a year (and I did NOT pre-authorize it as they claim) without ANY renewal notification, cancelled said subscription 5 days later without any refund and successfully got visa to overturn the dispute resulting in ripping me off for 1 never year worth of payment. I will never do business with them again.

I need my computer changed back like it was. It will not let me sign on with my password.
Also, if I press change password, it says I have to get a USB flash drive to get your stuff off.
I just want you people to get your stuff off so I can sign back on like it was before you got on it to try to give me a refund. Thank you.

I was at the McDonald's in Morgan City, and they were super busy. A customer was being very rude to the employee.
He kept arguing with the young lady, saying he was supposed to have a fry and he really didn't order the meal. She was just trying to explain that he had to pay for it, and he was being very rude. He told her he would contact corporate.
The employee did nothing wrong. This happened around 9:30 on 5/6/2025.
