Something similar happened to me. I declined auto renew, disabled it as it came preinstalled on my Lenovo I purchased.

Suddenly, I get an auto renewal draft to my banking account through Paypal, which has two factor authentication enabled. So I try to log into my Mcafee account with the only password I ever use and it won't let me in, so then I go to change my password to get in and once in, the summary page reads that I have been without service for 1637 days. Well, imagine that because I DECLINED it! Go to the auto renew settings and like magic it was enabled.

Well, I did not enable it, nor did I get an email stating they were getting ready to auto renew and again given the option to decline it. I do know notifications pop up on my computer, which I always decline. They have not yet refunded my money. I am unable to delete my information on their website.

I have filed complaint with Paypal over this transaction and have removed them from an auto renew list that I was unaware Paypal had. They have a list of accounts that will try to auto renew through them. I had several I was unaware of, and thank goodness Paypal has this feature. I was able to disable Mcafee, which was also on there as well.

Go figure! I will be contacting my bank should I not hear back from either within a few more days. I thought I would give them the opportunity first. Thank goodness BOA cares about this kind of activity.

They also have a program you can download to secure the sites you go to. Ugh such a mess and a horrible time to have this auto draft to happen.

Purchased a product key from Currys/Pc World to renew subscription. Failed to respond.

Spent two days trying to contact MacAfee support on their chat line. Nothing happened. Got a phone call from an Indian sounding guy who wanted to enter my Computer. Suggested I needed an update to accept subscription payment.

Not going to happen. Be careful out there people. Checked my existing Mcafee security and I have had a multitude of warnings since 0930 this morning, all from same source.

This has to be a scam, very convincing. First contact was on MacAfee page with a MacAfee logo on top right hand corner.

my renewal was a complete ripoff i was charged $120 almost £85 for a year all i use it for is my desk top why are they promoting it for £39.99 and then with the automated renewal they steal this extra money from you this will be these con artists l
