McAfee protection purchased, crashed all 3 computers it was put on!

We purchased a new computer for our son when he graduated from high school. We also bought a McAfee software program, which came with an extension for three computers. All three computers crashed shortly after the first of this year, due to this software. A good amount of money and time was spent to clean them up. Needless to say we took the McAfee product of all the computers. McAfee has now charged me for a renewal of this product of $ 84.79. They had notified an incorrect email address, of this charge, which no one got, and no one activated any renewal. But since this wasn't caught before 60 days, they will not reimburse any money!!! So, angry! AMAZING, how they got my credit card number correct, which had an account with it with a correct email, not to mention how you had to use some code or number to activate the software that crashed all of the computers. RENEWAL SCAM, without notifying you to cancel. They stated that after their product killed 3 of our computers, I was supposed to go and make sure all of my information they had was correct!!!

New laptop mcafee help line

I purchased new laptop and McAfee antivirus today went to link as shown on my card but there no place to put my product key so phoned 0800 number and could not understand the accent of the receiver he eventually got me to give him access to my laptop and kept altering my details then said my network was contaminated could not install although I had added my product key number and already have thr free started on my laptop so now I do not know how I can ensure I am covered also as I have purchased a years protection I would like some help please I an in Uk not US cost £39.00 (offer) F.dean

McAfee customer service are not real techs

I spent two hours dealing with completely ignorant tech support. They take for ever to answer questions, act confused and twist their words, then try to transfer you to another technician just to answer a simple question anyone should be able to answer in the online chat session. That's when they say that you should download a program onto your computer to continue talking. Don't trust them. It looks official, but don't. That's how they get keyloggers etc onto your computer. I recall seeing the previous CEO of McAfee saying that the new management is bad and that the service is bad. I believe he sold it, and this business model is being ran by incompetents, dolts, and/or crooks.

Disconnected my wireless Internet

Last year when I bought McAfee, they had some glich that rendered my computer useless. It took my computer geek son 3 days to fix it. All because there was a update it needed to not think my computer was the virus, but for some reason attacked it without informing me I needed an update. Dummy me (65 yo retired fe) bought a new one when that one expired. Now my computer is rendered useless again. McAfee has shut off my wireless rendering my computer useless again. Now what am I to do? They say to contact them before posting on this site, but they do not give you a valid email address to do so. Now why in the world would I want to call them and talk to some dits that couldn't figure out what was wrong last year? Someone should put them out of business.

I uninstalled McAfee and 6 months later my PayPal account was charged

I purchased my current system in September 2013 which came with a 3 month trial period of McAfee pre-installed. I immediately uninstalled McAfee and installed Kaspersky. I have never ever used McAfee on any system in the past or now as I dislike it intensely, it interferes with things and it's like a virus, I can never seem to quite get rid of it. Obviously I couldn't get rid of it this time either as it hijacked my PayPal account charging me $79.99 out of my checking account and caused me overdraft charges also. I NEVER used this McAfee software or configured it or registered it or gave it my PayPal info, much less authorized it to yank $80 out of my checking account. Anybody know how to get this thieving VIRUS called McAfee out of my system??

My bank account was debited without my permission. I never authorised any automatic renewal agreement. The strange thing about it also is that my renewal date is not till August 2014. Now can anyone explain how this transaction can be carried out eight months in advance of renewal date by mistake . I am a very hard working person and dont intend working every day for someone else to enjoy my money without good reason. So I would like my money returned to my account as soon as possible and without any more corrispondence. I would also like an email to confirm that this complaont has been dealth with.

Purchase McAfee and it slowed my computer a a crawl and at times frooze it completely

In 2012 I purchased McAfee antivirus software. I found that my computer slowed to a crawl and at time frooze. I got an online chat to solve this problem and after being told it was not their software had to also request how to uninstall software. Regular uninstall will not work, McAfee also sneaks in on the back of programs. I called 5 months ago with concern to my computer coming to a stop, locking up due to their antivirus and was told that I was wrong. I cancelled my order. As soon as the software was completely wiped (had to restore to a time before installion McAfee), my computer worked fine. On top of that today I find they have deducted monies from my bank account for 49.99 and when contacted they said all customers get automatic renewals unless they request different. Doesn't canceling your order 5 months ago indicate that you do not want their software? I am looking for a for someone who has filed a lawsuit against these people and see if I can help them, or join in the lawsuit.

High availability Firewall crash with overload of log. The problem was submitted according above complaints but never received an answer. Local support is the worst, they act as we were lab rats. Our Security project must be finished on Dec 3 and we have a delay of 2 month due to McAfee problems. Total solution is not function as they promissed. Example: MLC can't work with the new version of ePO, due incompatibility. Due that, we must buy a new server and implement MLC independent. Lack of clear documentation and a roadmap of future software version. Lack of support and help

Malware and Adware friendly AntiVirus Software

I'll keep this short and sweet. This is the absolute worst AntiVirus software known to man. Any free Antivirus will work better than this. I removed this *** and installed Windows Essentials which was able to catch the adware and malware McAfee was unable to recognize. Don't waste time of money. Stay far away from this software. If you are one of the unfortunate customers, like myself, don't bother with Customer Service. They are trained to tell the customer they are at fault and for an additional fee they will be glad to help fix the problem. They will never be at fault. It is always the customer who messed up.

My computer crashed or hanged after installing McAfee program

My computer crashed or hanged frequently midway running other programs, even running Spider Solitaire. I download McAfee program after being prompted by McAfee to do so sometimes in August 2013. I paid by Visa credit card 4921-39**-**10-8501. I tried to remove the McAfee program on 05 October 2013, but my computer hanged again. I find that McAfee downloading process can cause corruption while running any program. So please find out what happen to downloading process. I am disappointed with McAfee program. It is lousy. I would like to have it in my computer. I am very pissed off, okey? Oh, it has reached 100 words already.

Doesn't canceling your order 5 months ago indicate that you do not want their software?

No automatic renewal on my account and they still took my money

I purchase internet protect cheaply through other company's. I purchased McAfee through Pareto at about half the cost of the auto renewal. First of all if they want to auto renew it should be at the same price not at a 100% mark up. My main complaint is that I received an email saying they would autorenew, I check my account billing page and it said no autorenew on any products and they still charged me. I have had bank charges because of this, and after 2hours of web chat I still have not had a refund. Let alone and appology and a refund of bank charges. In my mind this is an illegal way to do business

an unauthorised charge of £54.99 has appeared on my credit card statement, paid to mcafee in mid July. I am happy with the protection I already pay for and get, from another reputable company. At least it is more reputable than this mcafee oufit appears to be. How did they get into my account without my say so? They sell internet protection but are guilty of the very crimes they purport to prevent. How do I get my £p back? How do I stop such theft in the future? Is there a system for recovery of money stolen in this way?

Did you get sign up for a free Mc Afee antivirus trial? If you did, they only give you x amount of free days before they automatically bill your cc a large amount of money to continue the antivirus service. Autopay is the worst thing ever invented, IMO.

McAfee sneek install - has become a bad actor

McAfee is apparently installing a "free" trial slipped in along with an update of the Adobe PDF reader. This is annoying and is the kind of underhanded tactics aimed at the unaware consumer that they are supposed to protect against. Please get your shameful marketing department in touch with your technical team. I am also upset with Adobe for letting this happen. When I install a routine update to a trusted product I do no expect to have to read the fine print at every step to avoid having additional software installed. This is shoddy behavior by both companies and, I, for one will avoid future purchases to make my small statement.

Mcafee Rob The Credit Card Scam!!!

Second year in a row these crooks have tried to illegally charge my card. The charges were reversed after calling them and complaining. Next step is to pressure the card company to put a stop to this, or I will walk. This whole thing makes my blood BOIL!!!! It should be illegal to store customer information like this, how can they have control over my hard earned money? These Fat-cats need to know how it is to earn a living. There product can't be any good if they have to rely robbing credit cards to fill there fat pockets...
