I'm writing to you on behalf of my 83 year old mother, Mrs. xxxx.
She has been charged for many years for anti-virus software that she has never used.
The account was originally set up by my father, using the email address xxxx@***.nl. This address is no longer in use. My father passed away nearly 10 years ago. My mum got a new email address in Sept.
'20.
Payments have been made annually for many years (details attached) for a PC account (which may have been used for some time but not beyond April '20) and a Mac account which has never ever been used, since my mum has never had a Mac.
It would seem from the account details that you know that neither subscription has been used, so it is frustrating that my mum keeps being charged.
Furthermore, the credit card that is listed on my mum's McAfee account expired in February 2016. So how is it possible she has still been charged for two subscriptions since then, for another 7 x 2 subscription payments?! I will be taking this up with my mum's bank (who should have refused payments) but this should have also rung some alarm bells at McAfee, and you should have made contact with my mum. The aforementioned email address was still in use in Feb.
2016 and the physical home address on the account was still valid as well. Why did you not write?
I hereby request that at least the payments made since Feb. '16 are refunded to the credit card xxxx, that was charged by you, effectively erroneously, if not potentially fraudulently.
And at the very least can you please ensure that no further payments are ever made in the future?! My mum no longer has any use for McAfee software products.
Please confirm this cancellation of automatic renewals. I tried to do this on-line in my mum's account, but I'm not sure I did this correctly.

Mcafee mcscammers!!!!! Ordered service on 3-23-2021, pd $42.39 for 2 yr subscription. Had problems loading software, could not sign on for free T-mobile protection, had chronic pop up issues and other persistent problems with this software. Cancelled service on 10-2021, asked for refund. Was told I had to call to request refund, made the phone call. Boy, do they hate their customers. Phoned mcafee mcscammers, spent many days and multiple hours on phone being bounced from person to person, hung up on while on hold, told to email info on refund - did so, told to go to their site to fill out form for refund did so. Reps promised refund would be processed and email confirmation would come, requested rep send an email confirming that she had received my request for a refund , said I would hold on line until email came thru, rep changed story, said she cannot email, then placed back on hold and sent into menu *** transferred to persons who did not understand English. Hours and hours of this sort of treatment. There is no way to contact other than phone, yet their reps are not capable of handling a simple refund, nor comprehending and conversing in basic English. Uninstalled Mcafee mcscammers software 10-2021 and new antivirus software purchased and installed by Webroot.
When I cancelled this service, I deleted auto renewal function, yet each time I checked my account auto renewal had been reactivated-this happened 6 or 7 times. So they had every intention of scamming me by billing me again thru auto renewal without my permission; and not refunding the money I had been asking them to refund for months. I have written a letter to San Jose corporate office requesting my refund, no reply; I have complained to FTC, and on Yelp. mcafee mcscammers placed a trojan virus on my computer and I had to enlist Webroot to help me remove it and all software associated with mcafee mcscammers. Beware of what they do to your computer without your knowledge!!!. Finally, got an email Feb 21 at 3:30pm telling me my request had been received and to allow 3 weeks for completion of my request. It has been over 3 weeks and nothing. It took them 30 seconds to bill my credit card when I ordered service, it should not take 3 weeks to issue credit back to the same credit card. They just want to wear a customer down with demands to fill out this form, no wait, call our 800 number, no wait, stand on one foot and pat your head, no wait, we lied, we wont really give you a refund, our goal is to wear you down so you give up. It is no wonder literally 100s of people have complained to the BBB and taken the time to file complaints against this company. mcafee mcscammers is the ultimate in low life cheats and I am tired of dealing with them. They are liars and do not do what they say they will do.
Have received yet another email this week, telling me again, that the refund has been processed and to expect to wait 3 weeks. IT HAS BEEN 51/2 MONTHS SINCE I FIRST REQUESTED A REFUND. I have jumped thru all the hoops they have thrown at me and still no money. This is disgusting and unethical. It takes 2 seconds to issue a credit to a credit card, as quickly as they place a charge to a card, they should be able to issue a credit to the same card. Unless of course, they are scammers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!

It appears impossible to get through to Mcafee. I refuse to communicate with anything but a human and apparently Mcafee doesnt really want to talk to a real person.
I thought I did actually communicate with them a few months ago and told them I did not want to renew my subscription.
I was sent a survey asking why I was leaving and I checked the box that said I had another security system. Evidently they forgot to turn me off because they put through a payment for $129.99.
In the meantime, Im still receiving a ridiculous number of spam emails purporting to be Mcafee from Chinese or other email addresses.
I dont ever want to go through all that again.
